The Risk to Bloom

And then the day came

when the risk to remain tight

in a bud was more painful

than the risk to bloom.

~Anaïs Nin

I can truly relate with this poem, especially since you are now reading my official “live” blog for ChiMoments.com. There has been a lot of emotion in creating this website, knowing that I am sharing a part of me with you. The questions continually arise from within: Am I good enough? What do I have to share that anyone would want to read? Can I really write in a way that is relatable? Will I be able to share my passion for T’ai Chi and Qigong in a clear, simple way, where others will be able to begin to have their own direct experiences? Can I be a conduit and assist others to connect, have compassion for one another, and more importantly, connect with one’s own innate Beingness?

My answer is the poem, “And then the day came when the risk to remain tight in a bud was more painful than the risk to bloom.” And, you know what? It feels freeing, expansive, light, all mixed up with butterflies of excitement. I keep reminding myself, to breathe, slow down, be present, and most of all, be kind to myself. For this website is the beginning of many things to come. What will they be exactly? I do not know at this moment, but I do know for sure, if  I keep my heart open, be present, while having no attachments or expectations to a particular outcome—my chi will continuously flow. Which is what I want for all of you, that no matter what comes up in your lives, you can truly know from within:

  • every moment is a new beginning
  • slowing down allows us to be more productive
  • being present is a continuous process
  • being kind and compassionate is our true nature
  • change is constant
  • enjoy each moment as it arises, for there will never be another one like it.

Welcome to Chi Moments, I look forward to connecting and sharing with you. As you read upcoming posts, may you take and share what resonates with you, and let go of what does not.
