Intuitive Trust, my CDF for 2015

Jan 8, 2015

One of my Core Desired Feelings (CDFs) for 2015 is IT (Intuitive Trust). I don’t know about you, but at times, I reach and grasp for answers outside of myself. This year, I am really focusing on trusting my intuition. Being more open and recognizing when I listen, acknowledging when I don’t, or when I simply ignore it. How do I feel, when I listen, how do I feel when I ignore it?

To me, when I listen, I feel expansive, when I do not listen, I feel contracted. For example, when Sifu (my teacher) suggested, I would be a great person to teach Qigong / T’ai Chi to patients and staff at the Huntsman Cancer Institute (HCI). I gasped, “Me?” Honestly, inside I could feel the fear, but yet that fear was very expansive and not contracting. This past summer, I became a staff member at HCI and teach 2x-a-week. It’s one of the highlights of my day.

The quote above, “Trust and stay open for what is about to happen,” is really relevant in my life right now. Especially choosing to teach Desire Map Workshops in person and virtually. Plus, there is a HUGE possibility of teaching a Qigong workshop for a big event coming to Salt Lake City, in October. (I will share with you as soon as I know.)

So, how can we continually trust and stay open? My first instinct, is to stay present in my mind, body and breath, with each moment. Because if I do not, I engage in the what if thoughts, and we all know that is a road to nowhere. Not staying engaged in the present, also may have me drifting into the past, which is also a path of resistance. I cannot change the past, (no matter how much I want to) I can acknowledge it, learn from it, and then I need to let it go. (It doesn’t do me any good holding on to it.) As I was recently telling a friend of mine, “Observe the children in your life, and allow them to teach you to be more present.” It’s amazing, how truly present children are, they do not contemplate the future or the past. (How long should I play with this toy?) Children are very wise, indeed.

I leave you, with this famous quote from Buddha, “Peace comes from within. Do not seek it without.”

May you begin in this present moment, to trust your own intuition…
