Seeing Clearly with an Open Heart

Aug 27, 2015

I have been through a lot of emotions these past couple weeks, from the extremely high, to the lowest low, and everything in-between. With that being said, I have been learning a lot about myself at the same time. As Abraham Hicks would say, “We learn from contrast.” Yes, that’s absolutely been my life as of late. What does it mean to learn from contrast? In one way it shows me how I choose not live, the other side it shows what I am accepting in my life. The next question, is how to change circumstances into what I desire….. my quick answer—let go and let be.

As we get wiser and more mature in life, we realize we cannot control other people, their thoughts, or their actions. All, we can do is choose how to respond. Notice, how I said respond, not react.

We can only respond from a clear and open heart. One way, I become more clear, is Qigong and T’ai Chi, the continuous practice of slowing down and to be with the feelings of the moment. As my teacher reminds us all the time, allowing thoughts to come and go like clouds, not attaching or trying to change them. [Yes, this is easier said than done, I know…]

Today, I had a lady share with others in our class how these practices are helping in her acupuncture appointments—opening the “chi rivers” within. At that very moment, I gave gratitude for Qigong/T’ai Chi. And, even more, to be the person to share these practices with others, for I learn so much from each and every one of you, thank you.

My husband, reminded me that there are two ways to view a street. Which had me thinking, yes, seeing another’s point-of-view is a must. Later that day, when I picked up the mail from my mailbox, I noticed our large front room window was dirty, and had some cobwebs on the outside. My first thought, “I am not seeing clearly.” I quickly picked up the vinegar/water mixture along with my squeegee and cleaned the window. [from both sides]

The act of physically cleaning that window, allowed me to see more clearly… my dear Soul-Sister Trina reminds me, whatever we feel emotionally, we can do something physical to clear it out. Another example, would be if you are feeling stuck in your life, let go [de-clutter] things, give away clothes in your closet, [you know, the ones you haven’t worn in a few seasons] cleaning out that junk drawer, or simply organizing something. Maybe, it’s as easy as cleaning some food debris that’s stuck on your counter. […just keep it simple]

As I practice the arts of Qigong/T’ai Chi, it also allows me to be more acutely aware of my intuition [my gut instinct] and to listen to it as it whispers to me. For, I know from past experience, when I do not listen, the whispers become louder, and pretty soon, I feel like I have been hit by a big truck.

I encourage you to listen to your own whispers, slow down and feel the feelings of the moments, to remember there are two sides of the street [thanks, honey] and to trust your intuition.

  1. Toni, I just want to tell you what an inspiration you have always been to me. I remember seeing you outside out Motel in Sedona doing Tai Chi with your whole soul open to the energy to that beautiful place and the group energy of healing that was present. Thank you for just being you and always being ready to help and to share your knowledge, grace and wisdom without judgement. Blessings to you, lets plan some type of group get together. Know that even when we don’t see each other you always have my love. Teri

  2. I so totally agree with both you and Trina; everything in our life matters and affects our energy for good or ill, even what is in our storage unit and what lurks under our beds, behind the doors. Please know, my dear friend, that even when we don’t see each other often you hold a piece of my heart and your wisdom reaches out to me at just the right time and in just the right way. Blessings, Teri
