6-weeks Spring Tai Chi
Focusing on The Brush Knee Series
Monday Evenings, 5:30-6:40pm — March 24 thru April 28
In this session, we’ll continue building on the First 13 Postures of Yang-style Tai Chi. Our focus will be on the postures and transitions of Brush Knees, which consist of five “brush knees.” Please note that completing the First 13 Postures is a requirement to attend this session.
Our fluid outline for this spring session:
- Week 1: We’ll review the First 13 Postures, and I will demonstrate the Brush Knee series, along with the transitions we’ll be learning over this 6-week series.
- Weeks 2 & 3: We’ll focus on the Brush Knees footwork, starting with walking, before we incorporate the hand movements.
- Weeks 4 & 5: We’ll practice combining the footwork and hand movements for all five Brush Knees.
- Week 6: We’ll review everything we’ve learned, so you’ll have a strong foundation in both series.
Each class consists of:
- 10-min Qigong Warm-up: Gently ease into your practice and prepare your mind and body.
- 60-min Tai Chi Practice: Focused instruction on posture, transitions, and flow.
