Are you taking care of yourself as we begin our second month with the energy of the Yang Wood Dragon? Are you allowing Wood energy, to ground you into your heart before making decisions? How bout taking time to slow down and observe your thoughts from a higher perspective?
Last year with the year of the Rabbit, it seemed the theme was stay in your own lane. I feel this year it’s about embracing your boundaries. Remember boundaries can be fluid, they do not have to be rigid. The most important thing is to be grounded in them, not letting anything or anyone uproot you.
Here’s an acronym to consider with questions to ask yourself regarding creating healthy boundaries.
Sleep
Are you giving yourself enough sleep? Between the astrological movements of planets, and our continuous solar flares—sleep is non-negotiable. Things and people can wait. You’ll have more clarity, and energy for each new day when we give our bodies the rest it needs.
Handle Stress
How are you handling your day-to-day stressors? Are you like a duck letting the water flow off its back? Or, are you holding on to the stress like a rock? We all do both, let’s be honest. How we handle stress is our choice, and it is our personal responsiblity. No one else can do it for us. I invite you to give yourself space to notice and observe.
Interaction
How are you interacting with yourself? Your loved ones? The world? It all comes back to being kind and and having compassion, especially with ourselves. Creating healthy boundaries is crucial for self-care and positive relationships.
Embodiment
What embodied state feels good to you? What is your default? Are they the same? We can all shift what we embody, whether it’s through understanding someone else’s point of view, exercise and move our bodies, or sit and be still. Again, notice and observe.
Learn
What have you learned? Are you learning something now from a new hobby or through reading? I am a perpetual student it seems, and I love to share what I have learned. My learning right now consists of only sharing my thoughts when being asked. My learning is speaking less, observing more. We all learn from every experience and every interaction. It’s a lifetime process, and part of being human. As long as you are growing, you are living.
Diet
What are you bringing into our life on a consistent basis? More than just the food we place in our bellies, although that is important too. It’s who we are hanging out with and how we spend our leisure time. Are you giving out 70% of your energy and focus in a 24-hr period and saving 30% for yourself? If not, how’s that working for you?
All of this to say: embrace your healthy boundaries and respect those of others. We are here to experience all that IS. While doing our best to not judge ourselves or any one else in the process.
Wayne Dyer reminds us, “Judging a person does not define who they are. It defines who you are.”
